Specify dependencies to indicate that certain tasks are required to be completed before other tasks can begin.

When to use dependencies

If a given task has dependencies, it will appear grayed out and inactive when running the checklist until all of the dependent tasks are completed. With dependencies, you can:

• Help teammates focus on one or a few tasks at a time to make the overall checklist more manageable
• Make sure teammates are well equipped with everything they need to complete a given task
• Coordinate dependent tasks across different teammates or teams within your company

Configure dependencies

To configure dependent tasks:

1. Open a checklist from your library

2. Click Edit

3. Select a task from the left pane

4. In the right pane, go to the Dependencies tab

   

5. Select one or more tasks that must be completed before the current task can be started. You will only be able to select tasks that are listed before the current task in the checklist.
